I couldn’t watch the RNC convention last night. I don’t have the strength.
I also do not have the stamina to watch any of the rePuke convention. Just reading about it and watching video clips raises my blood pressure too much.
Thanks for the Katie Porter article link. Katie is my first preference to replace VP Kamala Harris as the junior senator from California. She is among the many amazing women in the House of Representatives.
I've knowingly done things that I knew were possibly dangerous, and probably stupid, but I did them anyway.
Why?
Well, because they might be fun while doing them.
In other words, the means might justify the end(s). Good, or bad.
Here, at the KKKonservative's KKKonvention, there plenty of MEAN, with no justification(s) needed. Or desired. It's being mean for the sake of being in your natural state: A state of perpetual meanness.
The Yankees game tonight got postponed due to rain.

I was trying to understand the emotional and psychological effect I was undergoing while watching last night's GOP/ Trump convention presentation. I knew that there must be a word or a phrase that would encapsulate what I was experiencing. Lo and behold the article below provided not just the word, but also the understanding I was seeking. I consider it a must read. The word that I was seeking is discombobulate. Last night's Trump event rendered me discombobulated*.

Lalo Alcatraz has a wonderful cartoon depicting the RNC convention, specifically Donald Jr’s girlfriend’s rant. I don’t know why/how anybody could take watching this hate/sickness.
One of my newer small treasures, magnetized to my fridge, is a post-card/thank you from Katie Porter, showing her looking lovingly into the camera, with her arms wrapped around her kids, sent to me thanking me for a recent donation. It is wonderful having someone like this as your representative, and I feel called to do whatever I can to fight the fascists in this country by supporting her however I can. She’s got a great support team working for her, and is not shy about hitting up her constituents for $$, but how often do the stars align and you get to have someone like her representing you in Congress?
I look at DeJoy as a tool, an “efficiency expert” who could plausibly deny he set out to deliberately damage the USPS. The real power behind him is Mnuchin, who gave him the job, and the Republican dominated board of governors. They get to hide behind DeJoy.
I'd be kind of amazed if CA governor Newsom nominated Katie Porter for Senate (although he could). CA national politics is dominated by San Francisco and the Bay Area (Newsom, Kamala Harris, Dianne Feinstein, and I believe Barbara Boxer) were all from this orbit; Porter is from So Cal, and as such is kind of an outsider.
Just as well. Katie emphasizes that she's working for Orange County families, and hasn't really advertised any larger ambitions, unlike Kamala Harris.
