GOP POV:
“Hey bartender, give me a finger of whiskey, and 100 middle-fingers of water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s how they roll………………………………………………………………………………
We’re heading out there in a few weeks. I am not expecting it to be pretty.
Flying into the San Joaquin Valley, I see flooded fields all the time.
Put people to work converting flooded fields to fields irrigated with water-conserving methods.
Just don’t do it like a few tried to do after the Watts riots.
I live north of Sacramento and the foothills are already a dead brown. It looks like July here. I agree with a commenter on the original post that we need to pick and choose what we grow. Fruit and veggies grow well here – let the east and midwest grow the alfalfa and rice. I hope the orchards can be saved. I so dearly love our foothill mandarins (sold as Cuties nationwide) and the stone fruits in the central valley. If the trees die, they will take years to grow back even if the El Nino does give us a few wet years.
