This is brilliant. Luther the anger translator (Keegan Michael-Key) appeared with President Obama at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner last night.

Only in DC, do the idiot’s being mocked, applaud the ones mocking them!
The Politburo on the old Soviet Union was more self aware!!!
The closest we’ve seen of the stereotypical “angry black male” syndrome Obama is accused of.
I’d like to see more of it.
Brilliant and satisfying.
And weird as hell.
I always look forward to the White House Correspondents Dinner since Obama became president. I find him hilarious every time (at least for someone who isn’t a professional comedian). I’m a huge fan of the Key and Peele “Obama and Luther” skit and was elated to see Obama and Key together. Made my day to find this! 😀
I enjoyed the other segments as well.
I went out to my spam folder yesterday and found all the notices about comments had gone there. Hundreds of unmoderated comments and questions for two weeks. I tossed out the spam and the profane ones. Almost all my critics are foul-mouthed. Only a couple of critics survived, not because I wanted to censor but because I won’t buy bandwidth for toilet talk. Anyhow, some of you might find the comments amusing and I’m going to redesign – not me, I have a volunteer with qualifications I don’t have – to a blog format because people are still interested in talking about the subject.
I watched the nerd prom, I thought President Obama was really funny, he has a pretty good deadpan delivery. I liked the joke about how taxing being president is especially when having to pray five times a day! OT I flew south to retrieve the parental unit from her winter in the keys, while driving north on the Florida turnpike I learned that a fetus has a heartbeat after only 18 days from conception, they had huge billboards every 20 miles or so, some with illustrations of sperm and egg, I never knew?
Doug, I’ve never had a blog, but, I imagine that just about anything will draw the evil eye. That’s too bad.
I suppose if you get on “Democracy Now!” that automatically wakes a lot of trolls. But, we seem to be swimming in a sea of people with a lot of time on their hands and too little curiosity and intelligence to make good use of it.
But, how has the overall response been when you filter out the crazies?
Goatherd – The response was heartwarming. The crazies were clumped in bunches, which makes me think they weren’t independent. They weren’t that many. There was spam, which looks like it followed the traffic.
Of the significant comments, most were short and encouraging. A few were stuck in despair, but many praised me for speaking out on a taboo subject. They sounded energized. A lot of commenters were frustrated that the media buried my message, but they didn’t bury it that deep, because.. they got it. There were a few who wandered off the reservation, wanting to talk about wedge issues.
There was some debate about what will and won’t work. That’s a legitimate question but.. as long as a group isn’t a Trojan horse group trying to lead people astray, who am I to decide their approach is wrong? So I pushed back on the people who are married to a single approach to lighten up on people who are comfortable with a different approach.
uncledad… Are you a conehead? What’s with the parental unit?

No I’m a Hoosier! Our state has taken a real beating over the RFRA crap recently but at least we don’t have christian fundie billboards everywhere, not yet anyway!
Having been born in 1958, I remember all or most of what happened – and what I didn’t remember, I read up on.
The lashing-back of “The Law and Order Conservatives” is what led to Nixon’s victory, and the subsequent draconian sentences in our idiotic and costly ‘War on Drug.”
In my dotage, I don’t look forward to watching the past repeat itself.
Only it will be worse.
Some of those old time conservatives had some experience with poverty and need, during the Great Depression and WWII.
This modern bunch feels free to wave their Id in everyone’s faces, with no fear of any pushback – especially from our MSM!!!

Sorry – that comment above was in response to WaMo’s piece on the Baltimore riots.
They have DISQUS for commenting, and it’s always acting funky.
I think you might have missed or misunderstood my reference to being a Conehead. The term “parental unit” originated with a SNL skit back in 1977. So when you used the term I assumed it was Conehead speak. No slight was intended…I’am all about love and harmony… 🙂

I understood, I was just bloviating, trying to get someone to comment about the 18 day heartbeat thing? No offense taken Swami, I know how you are!
