I read the posts you recommended, man, what a painful time that was for thinking people.
I remember being chastized by some of my fellow workers for not “supporting the troops”, and for being unconcerned that “we need to fight them over there so we don’t need to fight them here”.
One woman I know ran herself and her boyfriend ragged trying to buy ducttape, plastic sheeting, and gas masks. When she asked why I wasn’t worried, I laughed out loud.
People forget what a big giant cluster fuck it was. Bush, aided by FOX news, catapulted the propaganda to amazing heights.
It is truly ironic that the very same dip shits who were quick to call you a “traitor” are now running around talking of overthrowing the government and flying the flag up-side down.
The ultimate irony is we have a very good list of the idiots who brought us to that dance. They are “fellows” at the AEI and the “founders” of the abomination called “the Project For A New American Century”, PNAC. If there were any bigger criminals in need of eternal torment besides Nazi Germany, I can’t think of them. The think tanks and “news” outlets that allowed the propaganda which terrorized our nation need to be stripped of their wealth and thrown into the darkest dungeons.AMEN!
All during the duct tape/anthrax scare I was working in midtown Manhattan, taking a commuter train to Grand Central every day and then walking a few blocks to where I worked. So I figured if anthrax was gonna get me, there wasn’t much I could do about it.
Perhaps there is the possibility of a class action suit against some of these perps?
I don’t think it will be difficult to get a million signatures.
Every journey begins with one step.
Nazi war criminals are STILL being hunted and prosecuted. Why not these bastards?
Perhaps there is the possibility of a class action suit against some of these perps?
erinyes, have you heard of the book by Vincent Bugliosi (the former L.A. prosecutor), The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder? At times it just seems like merely a fairy tale of the possibility of justice, but at least Bugliosi reminds us that there is no statute of limitations for murder. He envisions those dull chimp-y eyes staring at the bedroom ceiling at night, forever waiting for the other shoe to drop…. Meanwhile, in reality, Bush stands in an apron in front of drying canvases of some of the awfulest paintings imaginable, of little fluffy dogs.

(Apologies in advance for any nightmares!)
I guess one first has to have a conscience, in order for it to be troubled….
Hi Joan,
Yes, I saw Bugliosi in an interview just after his book was published,I suppose I ought to read it.
Bush did one painting where he painted the entire canvas blue entitled “Dog Gone”.
joan,
“W” also e-mails copies of his paintings of himself “nekkid” in the bathtub/shower, to his sister.
Nothing abnormal there at all!!!
Doesn’t every male who picks up a brush, and applies it to a canvas, do that?
If my sister got one from me, I’m pretty sure she’d have called the authorities right away – a long, long time ago!
Especially since, years ago, I was helping her by babysitting my, now 25 year-old Niece, and 18 year-old Nephew.
Of course, wtf do I know?
Except that, when I think of the Bush family, I think of them as America’s Borgia’s!
And, we all know that the “Family Affairs” in that family, stayed, ‘affairs” of the ‘family…”

I don’t always agree with Fred Reed, but when I do, I’ll send it to the Mahablog.
Don’t forget the military’s moral waivers….The few,the proud, and the deviants.
Got busted for voyerism…exhibitionism/ flashing.. or maybe a little necrophilia? Es no problema, amigo!
Bush’s military will sign you up for either canon fodder or to kill evildoers, whatever comes first… Any misfit is welcome to take a bullet or a bomblast for the decider..
Preemptive war? If that doesn’t say it all! It’s just sick …same as “enhanced” interrogations.
Right, Barbara.
We had some anthrax attacks here in Florida, as I’m sure you know.
The white powder copy cats were coming out of the wood work.My wife opened an envelope at work that contained white powder, they evacuated the office. It turned out to be baby powder.
I’d sure like to know what happened with the investigations, since we were told the anthrax was weaponized in such a way only certain nation states can do.
I hope this renewed interest jump starts investigations. I have Rachel Maddow’s documentary on as I type this (The selling of the Iraq war).
Also2, c – http://www.thenation.com/blog/173484/reviewing-weeks-mea-culpas-iraq-good-bad-and-ugly#
He has a great line in there, about how all of the former supporters of Bush’s Folly, don’t seem to see any “me” in the ‘mess’ they actively helped create.
So many “apologies” – so few with any real apologies.
No “mea culpa’s” to be found at all, of course.
But, best of all for the blood-gargling sociopaths who pounded the drums, and let loose the dogs of war, unless they died in the last 10 years, all of them still have nice cushy well-paying jobs, while tens of millions of people don’t.
And won’t.
Because the same idiot’s who supported the war, and it’s stimulative effect on the economy, won’t allow any stimulus that doesn’t involve another invasion/occupation.
Also 3, but OT – Tina Fey does Sister Sarah, the Simpleton Saint of Sitka in an improv, with the great James Lipton.
Btw – I met Lipton once, when I auditioned for The Actors Studio in front of Lee Strasberg.
It was Lipton who was sent to tell me that Mr. Strasberg was impressed, and wanted me to join his studio.
Then, Lipton told me the cost. It was $5,000 (a year, or semester, I don’t remember – all I remember was that it was WAAAAAY too much money for me).
I said to him, “What do I have to do? Make a major motion picture before I learn how to act?”
He didn’t laugh.
I told him I would think about it, and get back to him in a couple of days.
The next day, I found out that Strasberg had died overnight, so that, if I wasn’t THE last person to audition for him, I was certainly one of the last.
That weekend, I went home to see my parents.
After I got off the train, and into my fathers car, he looked at me and said in Russian, “Some actor you are. You killed Strasberg!”
I laughed at that line all weekend.
I’m still laughing at it now.
I miss my Pop.
