Paul Ryan says Congress must repeal the Affordable Care Act because rights only come from God, not the government.
By the same logic, they should repeal the Second Amendment.

Paul Ryan is the jerk. He almost slipped in his comment. He was about to give credit to the invisible hand, but seemed to stop short after realizing that most Americans don’t know the amazing marketing side of Jesus as being the invisible hand.
Well rights come from God indeed, except as Ludwig Van Mises and Ayn Rand saw it:
“You have the courage to tell the masses what no politician told them: you are inferior and all the improvements in your conditions which you simply take for granted you owe to the efforts of men who are better than you.”
From a letter from Van Mises to Rand. This is the same fellow who said that fascism was “saving” Europe.
Stupid Ryan. Yes, the Declaration says rights are endowed by the Creator, but it THEN says, “-That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men,” which is why we pass laws to make sure that we get to enjoy those rights.
Great argument using the Second Amendment!
I hope that bus full of nuns stops by his office on their way back from DC, and tells the Catholic Congressman Ryan what’s what.

And perhaps Congressman Ryan can explain all of the wonderful rights God granted the people of Europe when they were under the thumb of the Pope’s for centuries?
I don’t seem to remember a whole lot of them. Just a lot of brutal poverty, ignorance, and wars.
It took GOVERNMENT to give people rights.
Before that, it was survival of the fittest, richest, and most powerful – with the rest of the people praying in church that they get some daily bread, and that the Lords and Bishops would stay far from them, and leave them in peace for another week.
This God and rights bullsh*t smacks of desperation. I guess being exposed as a know-nothing economic fraud calls for some measure of desperation.
Maybe Congressman Ryan would be willing to prove his, and his ideas, superiority by foregoing any health care insurance for himself and his family?
If he’s “right” with the Lord and his rights, he should have no fears.
I’m waiting, Congressman.
What a feckin’ weasel.
I had this vision of God handing the tablets to Ryan, ala Moses.
Belief in miracles would be so consoling.
It’s truly amazing the way privilege twists one’s perception of reality. There is no limit to the way the ego can twist things around so it actually believes God and the universe revolves around man. Especially one as dulled and infantile as some stupid rich kid like Ryan.
Mindless Christianist bullshit from a devotee of atheist Ayn Rand, who hated clergy and religion as much as she hated Franklin Roosevelt and all his like?
Well, she did endorse use all necessary means to get rid of every progressive achievement of the 20th Century, so I suppose she’s laughing with approval at the hardball conservatives who have managed to enlist the Christian rubes of America on the side of the glorious plutocracy.
