  1. Gmail does indeed suck now.
    Badly.
It used to look user-friendly. Now, it looks like something from the days of dial-up, when a search engine was your dictionary, an ancient encyclopedia, and whatever part of your brain hadn’t been damaged by drugs, alcohol, or age.
And I’m not a “social media” kind of person. I’m more into anti-social mediums.
Google needs to change their motto to “Don’t be stupid!”

And New Coke is the perfect analogy.
I was thinking more along the lines of Bud Light Lime, but at least the old Coke tasted good. I never tried to use it for this, but the only thing Bud Light might be good for is to take the rust off a muffle.

  2. Hadn’t seen a word processor on Windows in several years. Encountered same a few days ago. It was dumbfounding in its complexity, with a huge portion of screen taken up by items not necessary to display all the time.

  3. For Contacts click on the down arrow beside Mail on the upper left. Don’t ask me why.

Personally, I changed to the new email so long ago I don’t remember the old. And yea, for a few days I was moaning about relearning how to use it. But, the way that almost all Google products now work the same and have the same general look makes my life easier in the long run.

It is interesting how much less true word processors get used these days; everything’s E-mail. Not a bad thing; just an observation.

The newer versions of Office seem deliberately designed to be frustrating, ugly, and user-hostile. They use this ribbon bar along the top that is suppose to substitute for a normal menu, but does a very, very poor job of it.

Yes, old Gmail > new Gmail, though it isn’t horrible, IMHO.
