As Col. Sherman T. Potter used to say — “mule fritters.”

All part of the passing parade… I liked him ever since Dragnet.
I recall him saying, “Horse hocky.”
I remember him from “Pete and Gladys”, but I have to admit, “Mash” was his best work.
Well, 96, he gave it a pretty good spin. We should all live so long.
Yeah, “horse hockey.” Great long life, though. So long, Harry.
I remember him in December Bride. He was a wonderful character actor, it was magic to watch him.
One of the greatest TV and movie character actors EVER!
My favorite Morgan moment was on ‘MASH.’ But not when he because a regular as Col. Potter. It was his appearance before that as a loopy racist officer.
God, I miss ‘MASH.’ And those other 70’s and 80’s shows, like Bob Newhart.’s and Mary Tyler Moore’s shows, All in the Family,’ ‘Sanford and Son,’ ‘Barney Miller,’ ‘Taxi,’ ‘Cheers,’ etc. I stopped watching TV sitcoms when they took ‘ALF’ off the air. I’m sorry, but you couldn’t pay me to watch ‘Jerry Seinfeld,’ or ‘Friends.’
Like great Broadway drama’s, the American sitcom is dead. Too many laugh tracks, and potty mouthed children with the inherent wisdom of Socrates, and randy old men and ladies. Sure, they’re all funny the first time, but now we’ve seen them all before. Too many times for me.
Excuse me a moment – HEY YOU – GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
Now, what was I saying?
Yes!! “December Bride” I forgot about that.
Heard him interviewed a while back. He had a reputation for being a rather surly, not easy to get along with man so his comment on his ‘Mash’ experience was all the more powerful. He said that the experience changed him, made him kinder, more considerate, more forgiving and more tolerant.
‘Mash’ is playing these days locally, I’m sure soon to be ended which will seriously curtail my TV watching. (I was without a TV set for at least 15 years so the ‘Mash’ airings are brand new to me – I will really miss them when they go off air. Maybe it’s time to throw the TV out the window and scream, “I’m mad as hell and won’t take it anymore.”
