Hopefully, this won’t make it to the SCOTUS any time soon. Those guys couldn’t argue their way out of a paper bag.
Thanks for the article, maha. It explains what I didn’t get anywhere else. What I didn’t understand was how the mandate could be unconstitutional when we have Medicare and Medicaid, and the article explains that if the mandate were in the form of a tax, it would be acceptable.
I’m of two minds.
One, I certainly hope that this passes. I think the corporatists on the SCOTUS, influenced by the medical and insurance lobbies, would vote to approve ACA. Btw, Chief Justice Roberts, that’s NOT the way the system’s supposed to work.
The second is that we shelve this whole mess and go to Medicare for all. But, that ain’t gonna happen…
