  1. Wow, that is some hard-core hateful crazy.

    And, I have to say, bad at math. A billion deaths? That’s an awful lot for liberal ideology to have killed. I mean, even if he’s counting WWII, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot against us, it seems like we couldn’t have gotten up to a billion, even with all the abortions I assume he’s counting against us. And really, I think he’s gotta admit we didn’t start WWII, right? (Well, maybe not, he is fricking insane. )

    Still, even so, I gotta think we’re still way under half a billion. And even if you add the people who might have been born without the Chinese one-child policy, (which is a stretch for a state rep in Wisconsin) that’s at most another 400 million.

    Three-quarters of a billion, tops.

    The last time I saw someone so out of touch with the magnitude of numbers, Dr. Evil was demanding “one MILLION dollars”. 😉

  2. I am not going to predict the outcome in WI. The polls suggest democrats could do well. They will also go after the governor next year before the 2012 election. If it becomes clear to these people that they will lose the tenuous grip they have on power, rhetoric isn’t all we will see.

    Mind you, they want to look like they can play nice when they are winning. The game will get violent when they see they are being rejected. I’m going to be very politically incorrect and hope it happens early and big, despite the carnage, because I want these creatures out of politics, and I’m not talking about reasonable conservatism. I’m talking about tea party scorched-earth terrorism.

  3. The ignorance of even recent (20 th century) history is astounding. The Nazis were Of the Right – and actually resembled the TP party in some ways, e.g the hate and racism. Didn’t any of these guys even earn a GED?

    • Tom b — I’ve been running into the “Hitler was a socialist” rant since back in the days of USENET. Righties fervently believe that Hitler was a leftie and not a rightie, and no amount of actual historical fact can shake their faith.

    Yes, because there’s nothing we Liberals love more than starting wars on two fronts (example: GWB fought us long and hard against Liberals involving us in Aghanistan and Iraq) and marching in goosestep lockstep while listening to racist, xenophobic, anti-semitic leaders rant and rave on the radio and from the nations capital, all while wearing those spiffy full leather coats – done to piss off the tree-huggers, owl-kissers, and the cardboard belt and shoe animal rights crowd.

  7. Spent yesterday canvassing for Sandy Pasch in Glendale. Calling today and will drive people to the polls tomorrow. Met some absolutely delightful people. One called Pasch’s opponent, Roberta ‘you’re not my’ Darling. Cracked me up. The people in the senate district were actually pretty sick of the whole thing, I ran into a lot of people who said they were voting for Pasch, but had been called dozens of times, had tons of lit and been door knocked half a dozen times. The polls have three of the six in favor of the Dems and three a toss up. Pasch/Darling is a toss-up. But Darling only won by 1,007 votes last time, and the Dems are pretty motivated. Hoping it’s a good day.

  9. I’ve also seen the “Hitler was a Leftie” meme a lot the last couple of years. A TPer sees “National Socialist” as the official name of the Nazi Party, and makes the obvious conclusion any non-thinking, incurious, uninformed idiot would. If memory serves, Glenn Beck was an early instigator of that meme.

    I read some of the comments to that article. Oh my! Such ignorance, hatred and bigotry. Not that it’s inconceivable but that they are proud of it. After about 12 comments I clicked away.

When those who are challenged to reason on issues reduce the issues down to something they can both understand and abide by they end up with two buckets with which to classify everything — “all that is good” (which includes themselves, of course) and everything else. The everything else bucket can, at any point in time, assume the label of anything that it contains. Thusly,Hitler is assigned to the “Liberal” bucket.

    We’re talking primitive here…haters looking for objects of their hatred.
