Jarrett ignores Erbe’s response, and starts bashing Edwards again, asking Erbe to note whether Edwards might still be lying about the circumstances of his affair. Ebre said it was possible, and suggested Edwards could go on Maury Povich’s trashy daytime talk show to talk about it. “The American public have told pollsters, this political season they want substance,†Erbe insisted. “Both these candidates have expressed support for allowing Georgia into NATO, for example. We are bound by treaty to attack anybody who attacks a NATO member. We could have been on the verge of nuclear war. Those are the kinds of the things that the American public wants to see discussed.â€
At that point, Fox News’ Jarrett responded, “Right. You know, but getting back to Edwards, during the Monica Lewinsky affair, Edwards absolutely ripped into Bill Clinton….â€
the people who are so eager to scold Edwards and chortle at the schadenfreude are apparently untroubled by the fact that, appparently, they’re just fanning old embers from 2006 and reminding Elizabeth Edwards of a revalation she tried to put behind her, which they’re now sharing with a much larger audience.
If they talked this much about him in January instead of dismissing him out of hand maybe he would have had a real shot at the nomination. Who knows, his campaign might have even benefited from the story coming out in January, what with the subsequent backlash against the media.

So, is Fox signaling the Repug electoral strategy? “Forget the war (now wars), the economy, jobs, the environment, and all the rest. We can’t allow Obama to be elected because of Edwards’ dick.” I guess it makes as much sense as anything else they’ve been saying.
There’s just no talking to a droid when it’s caught in a functional loop.

erinyes, the pejorative term “Zionist” shows up an awful lot in that link. Waaaay beyond my comfort zone. In my back yard, I once found a rain-sodden pamphlet that had been written by an infamous local Nazi. The content was similar, but with swastikas. I tore it up and dumpstered it, and afterward washed my hands.

I understand the discomfort with Karl Schwartz’s article. He is very opinionated and blunt, however, his big picture assessment is on target. If it pleases you, substitute “neocon” for “zionist”, as the song goes, “words are like weapons, sharper than knives”.
Sadly, over 2,000 have lost their lives in this latest Bush/Cheney promoted fiasco, and the whole shit house could go up in flames.
