"Barbara O’Brien’s wide-ranging account of Zen history is conveyed with a master storyteller’s ability to keep the forest from getting lost in a myriad of trees. Wearing her scholarship lightly, she blends just the right amount of skepticism about her hagiographic sources with a deep appreciation for the Dharma." — Barry Magid, author of

Ending the Pursuit of Happiness Order here!
Thanks for the reminder, Maha.
And, while I love this country, I know how wrong it has been over the year’s.
To celebrate the 4th, I just hacked up enough for a “lugie” to spit on my TV’s image of Bush on CNN. It took a lot of effort.
Uh, oh, I feel faint…
“Man dies in apoplectic fit at image of Bush on TV: Phlegm at 11!”
It is going to rain allll day in Houston. Not one ray of sun, however it is still light out.
How symbolic!!!!!
Done. Have a safe Fourth everyone!
If you don’t know Mark Morford, you should. His latest column, Scooter Libby in Hell.
I got in my pick-up truck and vigilantly patrolled my neighborhood looking for suspicous towelheads and wetbacks. You can’t get more patriotic than that, huh… well except for maybe joining the young republicans. America for Americans, that’s what I say!
I signed the petition… I also petitioned the Lord that Cheney would recieve boils worse than Job.
Done. And also: Rereading Sue Griffin’s classic meditation on war, A Chorus of Stones, on the fifth Fourth of July for the U.S. in Iraq and thinking about impeachment. My representative in the House is Judiciary Committee member Tammy Baldwin. I’ll let her enjoy the Fourth and reflect on what the holiday is all about. Tomorrow I’m calling her office about starting the impeachment process.
