By now you may have heard the sad news that Elizabeth Edwards’s cancer has returned. There were reports earlier today that John Edwards would suspend his campaign, but he says this is not so.
Sad about Elizabeth Edwards. I have always thought that she is his best asset. I hope and pray that the treatments will work and extend her life for a long, long time. It’s nice to see people defy medical odds. I had a friend with liver cancer who was given six months to live. She lived seven years. They were difficult but she had a dream to see her daughter graduate from law school. And, she did that with an extra year afterwards. I believe Ms. Edwards has that kind of strength and fortitude.
I do wonder how long it will take before the nasty right wing hate crowd start saying horrible things about this situation. Where they are concerned, I am sure that it would not matter what decision the Edwards’ made, they would find hateful things to say either way. They are, if anything, consistent with their hatefulness.
OK, I’m ignorant. I’ve heard the name Victoria Toensing, but who and what is she to all this?
My thoughts and best wishes to the Edwards family(they are smart people so I assume that they read this blog and will therefore see this).What a fine example they are of “FAMILY VALUES”..I am in awe of their courage and determination. They are a fine example to us all of standing for what they believe and not letting anything get into their way.
I assume as Bonnie said, there will be those on the right who will have comments that will be unfortunate…but take heart.The comments say more about the writer and their envy then they ever will about the Edwards family…So I say bring it righties.Show your true colors…the way Rush did today..show the decency and class you lack…the world needs to see.Sometimes the truth is ugly,but the Edwards family is strong..the right cannot harm them with their sick comments..that alone has to burn their asses.I like to think everytime a rightie goes too far someone wakes up and says enough…if it is only one listener that they wise up to who they really are with their own words/acts..it is a start.Too many families have been affected by breast cancer to find comments such as what rush has said already proper.Is nothing out of bounds for them????Have they no shame????
