His Mother’s Son

Via Tristero, be sure to see David Neiwert’s post on George Bush’s character. Among other things, Dave links to a Gail Sheehy article from 2000 that people should have taken more seriously. Just one Mother’s Day anecdote:

Even as an adult, George was so out of control that his mother, then the president’s wife, removed her eldest son to the opposite end of the table at a state dinner for the Queen of England. Although sober by then, the First Son had introduced himself to the Queen as “the black sheep of the family.”

George W. Bush was then 44 years old.

  1. But…but…but..Tweey always calls him: A popular President.

Still does as far as I know.

Our society has lost the capability of diserning good from bad, inept from incompetent before the hurrican hits….

The prognosis is not good as long as we are influenced by The Corporate Slave State talking heads to the point where we elect and idiot of an asshole of wanna be fascist clown like ‘Dumbya’.

    Pass the Al Gore please.

  2. It’s not SAD, it’s revolting and unconscionable that this fuckwit and his minions are in control. They are the embodiment of the absolute worst of America, the very lowest of common denominators.

  3. I read Gail’s article in Vantiy Fair in its entirety and I loved it. I had read about 2/3 of the story before.

As I’ve said before, Uncle Ben makes a very bad Momma! She keeps talking about attending Smith but only “attended” for 6 weeks and I’ll give her one semester as a maximum.

  4. It’s not SAD, it’s revolting and unconscionable that this fuckwit and his minions are in control.

You’re damn right. This fuckwit is taking the whole planet down with him.

  5. If you can see it as humor…one of the funnier things that the righties are saying is, we don’t have the vision to see Georgie’s greatness or his decisive and bold leadership in defending America. Only visionaries and future generations will have the benefit of knowing how truely great he is. The scriptures say that a prophet is not recognized in his home town…and so it will be with George Bush..

We are just blind grumblers in the shadow of greatness.

  6. I suppose if you drop enough acid his greatness will pop out at you.
Yeah, he’s real “special”. “The short bus president!”

  7. Just one comment:

1 .Ann Richards had just beaten the hell out of his dad, and Barbara really didn’t like it. She told George, ‘Go get her.'”
. Beware of a mother scorned.

    and one more:

    2. “The great point is, George would have loved to be commissioner of baseball, and if Selig hadn’t been playing him along, he would have been commissioner and he wouldn’t be running for president!”
    – Thanks alot Bud Selig.

oh sorry – one more –

“It’s not that complicated,” he tells reporters, or “I’m not really the type to wander off and sit down and go through deep wrestling with my soul.”
    – Lucky us

    and one more………
