The U.S. military broadened its offensive in western Iraq on Monday, launching a major attack on insurgent positions in the town of Ubaydi near the Syrian border and killing about 50 insurgents in precision airstrikes and house-to-house street fighting, according to news reports and the U.S. military.

See? Not like Vietnam. We used to call this “escalation,” not “broadening.”
heh. I’m reminded of the episode I watched of Star Trek: Enterprise on dvd the other day, where the armory guy is trying to come up with the not-yet-evolved term “red alert”… And the captain says to him, “Don’t call it ‘battle stations’, think of something less… aggressive.” heh.
Joke: How is Iraq different from viet nam?
Bush had a plan to get out of Nam
On a more serious note, it seems syria is the already happening next bush will be trying to sell us on in the near future….what an asshole
