Another terrifying glimpse into the fathomless abyss of the rightie brain — In Ohio, a sobbing woman thanked President Obama for the Affordable Care Act. Four years ago this woman, Stephanie Miller, had lost a sister to colon cancer. The sister had been uninsured and did not get proper treatment, according to Miller.
So how does the genuinely demented Jim Hoft react? BUSTED! he screams. He has proof that Stephanie Miller is an Obama supporter. Her Twitter handle is @obamasbestfan, and he has a photograph of her wearing an “I (heart) Barack” T-shirt.
This is the sort of thing that makes a rational person feel like Alice floating down the rabbit hole. You can search Hoft’s post in vain for any indication that Miller is anything but an enthusiastic Obama supporter. So what is she “busted” for? Existing?
And what does this tell us? Righties think disagreeing with them is immoral.
Elsewhere in Ohio — clearly the place to be yesterday — an anti-Romney protester is assaulted at a Romney rally. The protester was holding a sign and chanting when the Romney supporter tried to shut him up by stuffing a handkerchief in his mouth. The protester calmly spit out the handkerchief and kept chanting.
Bobby Jindal and Tim Pawlenty were the headliners at the rally, and protesters were chanting “Pawlenty Go Home.” Why they were giving Jindal a pass, I have no idea. Hoft’s reaction? “OBAMA GOONS Provoke Attack at Romney Campaign Rally.” That Hoft is a pistol.
You have the right to free speech, not the right to wrong speech. See, it’s simple.
Exactly. Because wrong speech is attacking freedom, and is therefore by definition not free speech.

I run into this on Facebook all the time. The latest incident was a frightening Fox imbiber who attacked a group attempting to get people to register to vote. He perceived a liberal bias thare which, in his mind, deleted any good they might be doing. Called names and accused them of associating with groups Fox had demonized. He didn’t mention Fox, but it was clear where he got his misinformation. So, even if you are involved in something as neutral as vote registration, you are wrong, you are the enemy and you must be attacked.
However educational, I wish I hadn’t visited the Hoft site now.
I’ve got to give that protester credit. I’d have punched the motherfecker out, no matter now old he/she was.
I would have hated myself afterwards, since I abhor violence, but it would have been a reflex-reaction. If you lived, bartended, and bounced, in the Lower East Side and “Alphabet Jungle” of Manhattan back in the early 80’s, you’d know why.
In a sane country, they’d unstrap Hoft from his straight-jacket only at mealtimes, when rubber utensil’s would be brought in for him to use – NO SHARP OBJECTS!!!
But then, in a sane country, we’d be doing that to the other 27% of the Conservative base, too.
And that’s the difference between them and us – they’d gladly kill us all, and we’d let them live, but make sure they couldn’t harm others, or themselves.*
*Obviously, I’m kidding.
I AM kidding, aren’t I?
“Immoral ere”?
” If you lived, bartended, and bounced, in the Lower East Side and “Alphabet Jungle†of Manhattan back in the early 80′s, you’d know why.” I had a tough lesbian friend from Manhattan who was about to end a late shift on a menial summer job in a newsstand in the early 70’s and this guy comes up to her and says “Gimme your money”. She looks him in the eye and says “no way”. Poor judgment, perhaps, but the guy turned tail and fled.
These stupid people deserve the government they ask for.
Unfortunately, the other 90% of the nation (and the rest of the world) does not…
How small an island would 30,000,000 people fit onto? We could just take the money from their handlers to buy such an island and ship them all there, and look back at them in 20 years! Wouldn’t that be fun. How many of the survivors and their progeny do you think would vote that way again in their life times after living the consequences of their actions?
